Oiseau de feu

Sailing yacht OISEAU DE FEU was built in 1937 by the famous Camper & Nicholson yard in Gosport. Her first owner, RORC Commodore Ralph Hawkes, asked naval architect Charles E. Nicholson to design a 12m fast boat with sufficient living space to make comfortable cruises.

Renamed OISEAU DE FEU, the architect Ribadeau-Dumas has designated for the complete refit, adapting superb interior varnished mahogany. This yacht has been classified as a ‘historic monument’ in France and continues to wear proudly its classic 400 m2 of sails, during the races of classic sailing ships in the Mediterranean.

Her experienced skipper and passionate owner will be happy to share a unique experience during day trips and traditional sailing races in the bay of Cannes or Saint-Tropez Bay.

The current owner of OISEAU DE FEU has been able to modernize its boat while maintaining the aesthetics and refinement of the original design.

Today, the sail platform includes 4 electric winches that greatly facilitate maneuvers and allow to sail safely.

On the main deck, 6 people can dine in the shade sheltered by a large tent and inside the yacht is just as cozy with its gorgeous mahogany wood panels.

With good height under the beam and numerous natural daylight windows, the salon is arranged around by beautiful mahogany painted table. Along with a bench in Alcantara, small libraries and black and white racing photos, this interior exudes a unique atmosphere full of history.
The mast proudly displays the gold coin used during the baptism of the yacht.
At the bow there is a master cabin with its double bed, complete with bathroom with shower and washbasin. Near the descent, on the back, it is located a modern kitchen with fridge, freezer, hob and oven.

At the starboard there are guest cabins with bunk beds, while at the aft there is a third cabin with a double bed. The crew has its own stateroom at the bow.
